Unfortunately despite the food being very tasty and presented well the lack of professionalism and service ruined our dining experience. It seems the young, friendly servers, are not trained in the restaurant business and how to ensure client experience is priority. Cutlery was bought out and placed in the centre of the table. Food was delivered in stages with half the party almost finished. I am presuming the kitchen is very understaffed. We had to cancel 3 of 7 desserts due to the other 4 having finished. The restaurant was cold and uncomfortable. It's a shame as there are very good elements but not good enough to excuse the things that were lacking.

The food was lovely and the staff were nice. Service was good. We both had the duck. It was lovely. Service was quick and I would definitely come again.

Staying in a local hotel and walked to The Carpenters. We were served by Gemma behind the bar who looked after us all evening, she gave us all the information we needed and was an absolute credit to this place. We had a fantastic 10oz Sirloin with all the trimmings and it was top notch. We work away every week and we don’t often come across little gems like this pub. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back

Always love a trip to the carpenters arms. We hadn't reserved a table but we're lucky they were able to squeeze us in. We were thrilled to find Thai food on the menu. It was delicious. Best Thai of had in some time we hope that it becomes a permanent fixture on the menu. The chicken curry and the pad thai were both brilliant.

Love this place and been going for years. Midweek can be quiet but worth it. Our waitress Maisie was very friendly and bubbly who looked after us well. I was a bit annoyed at first as we had booked our table that we liked only to see a couple sitting on it. But Maisie soon slipped over to moved them. Perhaps ‘Reserved’ notes would be a good idea as it’s happened before. But the food was really good as usual. I’m not sure why so many people pick up a parking fine as it’s well documented around and on every table? We will be back.
